Girl Moonbounce Birthday Theme

Here are a few photos from my daughter's 4th birthday party I would like to share. Originally, the theme was going to be centered around the movie Tangled since that is currently her favorite movie. However, we decided a Moonbounce theme would be more fitting due to the party venue. This was her first "friends" party which was very exciting!

I created the invitation, tags, water bottle labels, bag toppers and bubble bottle labels in a pink, purple and aqua theme with a pink zebra striped background. (I really need to get away from the pink, aqua & zebra stripes theme. This was a similar color combo I did for her party last year, but in different shades. LOL!) The moonbounce graphic used here was by ©Goodness and Fun.

Deciding on party favors was a little difficult since there aren't many moonbounce themed items for the varying age group of 2 - 9 year old guests we were expecting. I decided a custom made moonbounce cookie plus bubbles and some chocolate treats would be perfect to tie in the theme. However, this great cookie idea didn't come to me until the very last minute. Bundles of Cookies worked their magic and created an adorable Moonbounce Cookie to match the invitations. A big thank you for their quick turnaround!

As I have mentioned above, originally this was supposed to be a Tangled themed party; I searched online for a Rapunzel costume that didn't have much of the itchy tulle. Not easy to find! I was happy to have found an Etsy vendor, Loverdoverclothing who created this beautiful Rapunzel Retro Tutu Dress shown in the invitation.

As for the birthday number shirt, this is a modified version of the Personalized Scalloped Shirt that is available on Pitter Patter Creation's website.

Planning a Girl's Rock Star Birthday party? Here are a few recent photos from my daughter's 8th birthday to help give you some ideas. This theme was so much fun to plan and easy too! Some of the activities included playing Just Dance on the Wii, a dance contest, a small craft and pinata. A couple of activities that were planned, but we didn't have time for were Karaoke and a Jeopardy/Name That Tune/Trivia Game.

Each guest received invitations that looked like concert tickets. Once the girls arrived at the house, their names were marked off the VIP List and given a Backstage Pass. The partyware, decor and favors were from Party City, Birthday in a Box and Michaels. My husband created the Security and Event Staff badges plus the guitar cutout that was used for the craft project. I designed the invitations plus the personalized tags, cupcake toppers, water bottle labels and backstage passes.

Hope this gives you some ideas for your Little girl's next birthday party!

Valentine's Day Water Bottle Label - Free Printable

For my daughter's upcoming 2nd grade Valentine's party, she was asked to bring in bottled water for the class. I thought it would be fun to dress them up with Valentine's labels. Unfortunately, I am still a beginner with PSE (Photoshop Elements) and do not have much experience in designing personalized water bottle labels. Just in case you are wondering... all of the products currently on my site, Pitter Patter Creations, are from other talented designers that I have partnered up with to sell.

In the past few weeks, many designers' blogs have offered free Valentine party printables for cards, cupcake toppers and tags; however I haven't come across any for water bottle labels. I decided to put myself to up to the challenge!

The photo above shows the personalized Valentine water bottle label that I came up with. It did take me some time to figure out how to create them and have the labels print out correctly since I was not working with an existing template. However, I am very happy with how they turned out! These were made to fit the smaller Deer Park water bottles 8 fl. oz. Some of the graphics used were from The Coffee Shop Blog. (BTW, I love that blog and have mentioned it here in previous posts. You will find photography and Photoshop tips plus free downloadable actions and digital elements. Definitely, check it out!)

If you are having a Valentine's Day Party and want to make your water bottles look more festive, here is a non-personalized label you may use. The watermark will not be on the printed file. Click here (Google Documents) and download the free printable .pdf file. If that link doesn't work, then try this one (4shared). Not only was designing the label a new thing for me, but also had to figure how I was going to share it. Eeek! Decided to load the file to both of these free programs, just in case one did not work for everyone. Please note this is for Personal Use only, not Commercial Use.

Once you download the file on to your pc, you will need Acrobat Acrobat Reader to read the .pdf file. There are 4 labels per 8.5 x 11 sheet. Print out as many as you like, cut them up and use double sided tape to secure each to a 8 fl oz. water bottle. Enjoy!

New Girl Photo Birth Announcements

I am so excited to have added many new Photo Birth Announcements to Pitter Patter Creation's site recently and more will be added. Currently, updating that part of our site to make it easier for new moms or new parents to shop for custom baby announcements. Our modern photo birth announcements are available in two sizes 4x6 or 5x7. All of the designs are available on photo paper in a matte or metallic finish. Some of the photo birth announcement designs are also available on a firm card stock.

Shown above is one of my favorite new girl photo birth announcement cards. This is the Pink Stitched Photo Birth Announcement card. This modern design allows for one photo to be displayed across the entire card. This allows for the photo of baby to be the main focus, which it should.

Pink, Turquoise and Zebra Stripes Birthday

This Pink, Turquoise and Zebra Stripes Birthday party was so much fun to plan for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I am excited to share some photos from her party. The theme was based off of our Sydney Princess Zebra Photo Invitation. The invitation shown above was slightly modified from the original design to accommodate a vertical photo layout.

The banner, the water bottle label (black & white zebra striped paper), the zebra striped background for the tags and cupcake toppers were all from a Zebra Printable Partyware file by Plates and Napkins. The great thing with using a printable file is that you could print the designs out on different color card stock papers and use various shaped scrapbooking punches to give more variety in your party decor.

Dressing up water bottles with decorative themed paper is quite simple. Here is a tutorial from Glorious Treats to make water resistant labels. Tags were placed on the front of the bottles to tie in more of the themed colors. One thing to note...since the tags and labels were not waterproof, the bottles could not be placed in an ice bucket and could only be refrigerated.

The small Pom Poms (flower balls) are what I am the most proud of! This was my first time making them and they were extremely easy, inexpensive and oh so pretty!!! It's hard to believe that one pom pom was made from a wiffle ball, some coffee filters and spray paint. The wiffle ball, coffee filters and smaller vases were all from the DOLLAR STORE. I first came across this great idea on Everyday Celebrating which has a link to Me Making Do's tutorial.

Can't have a Zebra themed birthday party without balloons...zebra print balloons! I found these at Sweet Creations on Ebay.

In addition to the cupcakes, the dessert table had pink rice krispy treats made with strawberry marshmallows, Hershey Kisses (ones with brown stripes on the silver foil) and Hot Pink Zebra Striped Butter Cookies from an Etsy shop. Those cookies not only looked wonderful, but were delicious!

Can't forget about the party outfit! The Hot Pink and Zebra Stripes Personalized Tee and the Zebra Petti-Tutu were from our site.

For those of you who are new fans and followers to PPC, we originally started out in 2006 as an online diaper cake store. Here are some photos from our Easter I would like to share.

The Girls' Personalized Easter Tees were of course from Pitter Patter Creations :=) These were new additions to the website this year. The graphics on the tees are so cute!

The Bunny Napkin Rings and Cupcake Toppers were free printables from Skip To My Lou's Blog. The Bunny Cupcake Toppers were posted on PPC's Facebook Fan page last week for our fans. Those toppers really dress up the cupcakes! I ♥ how they turned out! If you love DIY craft projects, then you must check out Skip To My Lou's blog. She always come up with awesome and fun ideas.

As for one of the Easter appetizers, I knew when I saw the Prosciutto Wrapped Mango Bites on Pizzazzerie's Blog that they will definitely be on this year's menu. Hubby actually made these since I was busy tending to the girls. Gotta give the man credit in case he reads this ;) They look very pretty and taste so YUMMY!!! Pink Ladybug Birthday Theme

As for decor, place the Flower and Ladybug Centerpiece in a flower pot secured by a floral styrofoam. Use green moss or crinkled paper which can be found at any craft store to fill in the gaps. We were so saddened to hear that Little Layla Grace had passed away on 3-9-10. In her short life she has been an inspiration to us all. Her story has touched so many. Our thoughts go out to her family. May she rest in peace.

Just a few days ago was when I first heard of the name Layla Grace and read her story. I have seen the username @LaylaGrace tweeted so many times on Twitter and how the online community is so touched by this 2 year old girl's losing battle with (Stage 4 Neuroblastoma) cancer. It is such a heartbreaking story and I could not stop thinking about her as she is in the final stages of her journey. You can read more about her journey on her family's blog.

Celebrated Valentine's Day Twice This Year

Valentine's Day is not usually a big deal in our house. I think my older daughter gets more of a kick out of all the cards she receives from her classmates at school than anything we do at home. Since Valentine's Day fell on a Sunday this year, I thought it would be special to make a big breakfast served on the girls' very own Personalized Valentine's Plates and Reversible Placemats. Of course things didn't work out as planned with all the snow we received in the Mid-Atlantic region. Their plates and placemats were not delivered on time. We still had a big family breakfast and they received the usual chocolates and stuffed animals on Valentine's Day. A day later their plates and placemats had arrived. I decided it would be fun for the girls to help make cupcakes and then enjoy them on their new Valentines plates and placemats. The cupcakes did not turn out well, since I am not much of a baker. However, we all had a great time making them and definitely enjoyed eating them!

I recently came across an awesome site with Free Valentine's Day Printables from Livinglocurto.com that I would like to share with my blog readers. I was hoping to have this post up a lot sooner; however the two recent snow storms that hit my area didn't allow me much time to think about anything other than shoveling all that snow and keeping the kids entertained while we were stuck inside.

I ♥ how my younger daughter's Valentines Goody Bags turned out! I downloaded this particular design template to be used as labels for sandwich bags from the I Heart Faces site which was listed on Livinglogcurto.com. This design did require you to have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements photo editing software. I added my daughter's name, photo and changed the font.

Don't worry if you do not own Photoshop. Livinglocurto.com listed over 35 different designs of Valentine's cards, sandwich bags labels, cupcake topper, bookmark & craft projects and some do not require any special software. Many designs are as easy as just downloading the template on to your pc and print them out.

If your child's Valentines party has been delayed until next week due to the recent snow storms, then there's still time to download one of these designs and make something fun for your child to share with his or her friends.

Snowmageddon 2010

Would like to share a photo taken the day after the blizzard AKA Snowmageddon 2010 that hit the DC metropolitan area. Over 20" of snow fell within a day and a half. Unfortunately, winter is not over for this area. We are expecting round 2 today with 12-18" of more snow. Not sure where all this new snow will go when we begin to dig out again tomorrow.

I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow. This month flew by. Sorry I have been MIA the past several weeks. Each member of my family including myself have been under the weather.
